We could lie and say we weren’t hoping for a win but we’re definitely happy with the message received from the Webbie Awards today:

It is my pleasure to inform you that GreenPix: China’s Next Great Wall has been selected as an Official Honoree for the Technology category in The 13th Annual Webby Awards.

GreenPix is part of what was originally a video series called SMAC. The video series is now an independent site headed up by Alexandra Lerman. We just soft-launched it and you can view it in its alpha/beta glory at SMAC.us.

The Webbie acknowledgement is great and and all credit goes to Alexandra for pushing the project forward during late nights and weekends.
