IBM — Small Business Toolkit

When IBM and IFC, the private sector arm of the World Bank, launched their Small Business Toolkit, their target audience was small business owners in emerging markets as well as women, Black, Hispanic, Native American, and Asian entrepreneurs in the US.

To reach this diverse and geographically dispersed audience, we interviewed real business owners to tell personal stories how this free resource benefited them. The interviews were filmed in Washington, DC during the IBM Global Leadership Forum, edited back in New York, and packaged up for the IBM Web team.

Possibly more fun (ok, definitely more fun) was taking actual footage from the Global Leadership Forum, animating it and then mashing it up with “The Information Machine,” by Charles and Ray Eames which was originally produced for the IBM Pavilion at the 1958 Brussels World’s Fair.
