MediaPod – The Digital Asset Manager

The MediaPod is a rich, multimedia asset manager used primarily to host, deliver, and share audio and video files. Audio and Video files can be “one-offs” or part of a larger “bundle” of files. Users can preview media and then download that which interests them.

The MediaPod offers multi-layered access control for viewing, uploading and downloading. Access to particular content bundles are based on rights and permissions that range from payment receipt, to being a registered member of a group or organization that has pre-approved privileges to view the content.

Who it’s For

The MediaPod was originally developed for conference organizers to distribute captured audio and video from events. Media could be organized by speaker, track or general themes and associated documents such as PowerPoint presentations or PDFs could be bundled into available downloads.

Access to MediaPod files could be based on event registration, payment or other criteria established by the conference organizer.

Since then, the MediaPod has been used by a variety of organizations who wish to distribute digital assets to select user groups, with access to files based on granular user groups that have particular rights and permissions.
